LhoLho -

Singer-songwriter, LhoLho, was raised by the village, in a family where traditional

gatherings with singing accompanied by thunderous clapping of hands, stomping

feet and the African drum beat were the norm. Song has always informed her

existence. Church further taught her that it is in community that we often find our

unique voice, paradoxical as that may be.

Since her teenage years she has sung in quartets and other various ensembles where

her powerful and yet soothing alto has always garnered the listener's appreciation.

Her EP, Wela - an eclectic mix of Afro-soul, Kwela, Jazz and spoken word - was

released in 2018, but due to life's happenstance she never promoted or performed

the music extensively.

In 2022, compelled to return to her love of song, she hosted her first intimate live event

in Cape Town to reintroduce herself to a familiar audience, while inviting new friends

to journey along with new music that she had written during her hiatus. She later took

the same offering to Johannesburg where it was warmly received at chiesa di PAZZO

LUPI in Melville.

Since her return to the stage, she is on a mission to offer more intimate gatherings and

to expand the LhoLho family since she is an avid believer in that African proverb: "If

you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.
