ANJA SCHNEIDER (MOBILEE)
---------------------------------------------
In a recent interview mobilee founder Anja Schneider was asked what type of person she’s liked to be remembered as, and she responded with ‘a fair and authentic one’, before lapsing into her trademark cheeky-but-honest humour to say she wanted her legacy to be of a ‘passionate wonderful beauty, who was always young and funny’.
It may have been a final question at the end of a minor interview, but the answer gives crucial insight into so much of what drives Schneider and makes her tick; from her inspiring, instinct-driven DJ setswhere the magnetic artist is having every bit as much fun as the dancefloor, to the label and accompanying agency, where a savvy head for business is mixed with a sharp intuition of how best to develop mobilee and its stable of artists,Schneider approaches it all with a distinct sense of passion, vision and energy.
Indeed anyone with even a beginner’s knowledge of mobilee will sense the crew as often more akin to a family such is the close-knit, free-spirited vibe Schneider has fostered among the stable of artists and collective of people working under the label, agency and studios at their headquarters in the Berlin suburb of Mitte.
While always available as a hands-on mentor, she’s equally insistent that each artist on her roster – whether it be live artists Rodriguez Jr. and AND.ID, or the likes ofDJ/production talent Lee Van Dowski, Re.You, Ray Okpara, Gel Abril and recent additions to the collective Customer and Kevin Over - develop their careers as they see fit.
Beginning her career as a radio programmer before going on to host her own show ‘Dance Under The Blue Moon’ on Berlin’s Fritz Radio since 2000, Schneider is responsible for the city’s longest running underground dance music radio show. Broadcasting every Saturday from 10pm, it has introduced generations of Berliners to electronic music.
It was from these simple beginnings that sprung mobilee – a distributor suggesting Schneider start up a label to support all the demos she was receiving as a radio host, and as such mobilee was birthed in 2005, with a booking agency arm to follow in 2007.
Of all skills, Schneider’s ear for unearthing and supporting hot new talent has reined supreme. A scan through the back catalogues of mobilee and its sister imprint Leena and you’ll see the likes of Maya Jane Coles (who returned with another EP in 2014, a follow up to 2011’s ‘Beat Faster’), Solomun, Shonky, H.O.S.H., Nicole Moudaber and Pan-Pot all alumni of Schneider’s labels, well before the artists were the household rave names they are today.

CAMEA
---------------------------------------------
There is no doubt that Camea's hypnotic tech house and techno sound has gained momentum as of late, and her following continues to grow as one of the underground’s most consistently respected talents. It has already been a strong start to 2016 - her BPM set at Alphahouse was featured by both Thump and Pulse Radio, the later naming her in their top 5 breakout stars of the festival. Thump also premiered her latest EP for Get Physical, alongside a glowing review stating that she is 'poised to become a worldwide scene leader'. Along side all this Camea is a featured guest on the B.Traits BBC Radio One Show in February.
Starting her career as a DJ in Seattle in the late 90s, her journey has taken her from West Coast warehouses to Brooklyn’s clandestine techno scene, and finally to Berlin where she resides since 2007. She is most famously known for her role as label head to one of the minimal era’s most llustrious labels, Clink Recordings, which she temporarily put on hold in 2011 to focus on her increasingly demanding studio and touring career.
Now 5 years later, Camea steps out of the shadows and heads towards Neverwhere as her new imprint lands this Spring with the first release, ‘Hello Earth’, due in June. She first imagined the Neverwhere concept in 2014 with her highly acclaimed Bpitch Control single of the same name, and launched a radio show with it the following year that has received a devoted international following. Neverwhere Radio premieres every 3rd Friday of the month on Digitally Imported, alongside an all- star line up of shows from Scuba, Adam Bayer and Sasha, and features many contributing mixes from guest artists with only one request: to imagine a soundtrack to the word ‘Neverwhere’.
Camea has had a steady stream of releases and remixes out on labels like M_nus, My Favorite Robot, Plus 8, Get Physical and more, and since 2011 she has been a mainstay on Bpitch Control, one of Berlin’s premier imprints that can be credited to the evolution of artists like Ellen Allien, Paul Kalkbrenner, Apparat and Modeselektor. On Bpitch she has composed avant-garde tech-house releases such as 'City Watch Over Me’, her quintessential 'Neverwhere’ release, and ‘The Hallway’. Each project included video collaborations with Berlin Film Director, Riza-Rocco Avsar, and in 2015 she also mixed and released music on Get Physical's Full Body Workout series, as well as had several remixes out, including on one of 2015’s top albums, Jori Hulkkonen’s ‚Oh But I Am’ on My Favorite Robot.
Camea’s interest in techno, deep house and the space between comes from her musician roots; she is a classically and jazz trained pianist, as well as fluent in several other instruments. Her hard work and dedication has earned her a rigorous international tour schedule, and she is frequently playing in her home city at clubs like Watergate, Tresor, Panorama Bar and many other underground events. Even though DJing has stayed the forefront of Camea's passion, when she is not out performing she spends most of her time in her studio in Berlin, and has become one of the handful of women from America to make it to the International stage for her genre.
