All in a beautiful and abundant food garden setting.

What she has to say about her craft:

“It all began with a faded green Peter Pan-style felt hat. I loved that hat. It provided me with shade, warmth, and camouflage. I could squash it up in my bag, pull it out, and shape it perfectly on my head. I could scoop up water and drink out of it! It was magical. It was wool that had been wet felted into what felt like an almost indestructible fabric … fire retardant, insulating, malleable. I thought if I could make a hat like this I could survive anything. And, yes, it is a survival skill, one of the oldest nature crafts of all time: the process of turning raw animal fibers into a solid wearable piece of fabric. It is also the quickest way to take raw fibers and process them into the fabric. Tentatively, I began in earnest to teach myself to feel. I fell short and created some peculiarities that amused my children greatly. Eventually, I progressed, and now feel so at home with this extraordinary craft that I run workshops and show others how to create practical wearable artworks; slippers thick, warm, and durable; hats that are practical and whimsical; winter gloves; vests; baskets and bags; and even interior decorations like light fittings and wall hangings. All made from wool – hypoallergenic, non-toxic, and deliciously fun to work with wool!”
