Led by our Managing Director, Rashiq Fataar, the tour will explore the concept of an ‘Open City’ exploring the Cape Town CBD from a built environment perspective, stopping at different sites, buildings, spaces and places that have the potential make Cape Town a more ‘Open City'. Some of these stops include:

In-between spaces of the city

The Fringe through the lens of Harrington Square

Roeland and Buitenkant Streets as key corridors to improve city life

Parliament, and spaces for protest

Church Square

The  Grand Parade

Long Street and its imminent pedestrianisation

In conversation with the Future Cape Town team and special guests, the tour will be a moving conversation inspired by the unique heritage and exciting future of the Mother City.

The tour is aimed at stimulating the thinking of participants around the many issues and complexities in designing a more 'Open City'.
