WILD WEAVING

Andie Reeves is a Cape Town-based teacher and maker, specialising in embroidery, weaving, crochet and sewing. What started as a love for making outfits for her Barbies and watching Project Runway with her mom has developed into a 16-year career of making things, from woven wall hangings to wedding dresses. She hosts workshops at various Cape Town venues as well as a regular Craft Night at The Ladder on Wednesdays.
The Cape Town Craft Club was initiated by Andie as a means to amalgamate her passions: creating, teaching, and fostering community. For her, there's no greater satisfaction than crafting something with your own hands, and she aims to provide everyone who attends her classes with the opportunity to experience that joy.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Spend the day exploring the ancient art of weaving combining lush wool with natural textures. We will learn how to weave using a handloom, covering different techniques and discovering a range of textiles from soft yarn to elements of nature. Participants will be guided through creating a woven wall hanging and leave with all the tools needed to continue this hobby at home.
WHAT IS INCLUDED:
Handloom, wool and yarn, needle and a comb.
Fynbos chai tea, a sweet treat and herbed water.
WHAT TO BRING:
You're welcome to bring you're own lunch or anything you'd like to eat and drink for the day.
