ABOUT

Steven Sokuyeka young trombonist from Cape Town, Started playing trumpet under mentorship of his father Roy "Sbali" Sokuyeka, later he picked up trombone after Duke Ngcukana asked him to check and play trombone For Cups Nkanuka's big band. Steven decided to stick on trombone since then and been appearing with different South african mostly Cape Town Jazz Masters such as Ezra Ngcukana and Duke, Dr Tete Mbambisa, Roger Khoza, McCoy Mrubata, Spencer Mbadu, George Werner, Buddy Wells, Herbie Tsoaeli, to mention few. Steven is Been a Side man all this time, Steven now is leading his Sextet playing mostly original music, Celebrating his musical mentors and playing the music that they tought him...
