Martin Zenker

Martin Zenker (born 1970) is from Munich in Germany and has been a freelance bassist since 1987. Performance credits include Jimmy Cobb, Billy Hart, James Moody, Jesse Davis, Jim Snidero, Steve Grossman, Barbara Morrison, Peter King, Eartha Kidd, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Don Braden and many more. He was Professor of Bass and Jazz History in Seoul, South Korea from 2008 to 2012. In 2014 he settled in Ulan Bator to establish the first Jazz Bachelor Program in the country at the Mongolian State Conservatory. His influence and contribution on the art and music scene in Mongolia is quite substantial. Subsequently he was awarded the Soeliin Terguunee Agiltang ny the Mongolian Ministery of Culture and Education. Currently he resides in Ulan Bator and Munich, Germany were he holds a position as a professor for Bass and consultant for international affairs at the Munich University of Performing Arts.
