Come immerse and experience the wonder and mystery of the Amazon rainforest through a non-released documentary six years in the making directed by Lara Jacoski and Patrick Belem.

Eskawatã Kayawai - The Spirit of Transformation is a film on the cultural and spiritual renaissance of the Huni Kuin people from the Amazon rainforest. 


Join us for this rare & incredibly special screening of this unreleased film at The Labia Theatre on the 27th of February from 18h00 - 22h00


The film suggests and inspires the possibility of rescuing ancestral values to live in harmony with ourselves and the planet, bringing a breath of hope to this critical post-pandemic era.

Such a film has never been made before, portraying the profound connection that the Huni Kuin have with diving deep into their culture and daily lives through a rich narrative woven with the words of elders, leaders, and children from different villages set in the enchantment and mystery of the forest.


Join us and witness the cultural revival of an indigenous community, building an ancestral future in their territory. 


The film's director, Patrick Belem, will be present to share his backstage insights and stories woven with pictures and anecdotes of his relationship with the guardians of the forest built over six years of the film's production and the transformation they brought to his personal life.


The screening will begin at 18h00, with Q&A immediately after, followed by Sacred songs shared by the spiritual leaders and main characters within the film Ninawa Pai da Mata, Txana Tuwe & Biruani Siriani.
