If you still haven’t enjoyed the decadence of burlesque, then we invite you to join Black Orchid Burlesque at The Rockwell Theatre for a night of magic, mystery and mischief!
So you have seen show posters of women in fishnets and lace frilled corsets, but what’s it all about? If you missed the first production of Paint It Black- then this is your chance to catch this truly amazing show!
Traditionally burlesque celebrates the art of strip-tease, and while it blossomed as a satirical artform in the early 1900’s in Europe, Burlesque experienced a massive revival in the entertainment scene in the late 1940’s in America, where it took on its iconic flair for raw bumps and grinds and unashamed sensuality. Here at ...Black Orchid Burlesque SA we embrace Burlesque in all its glorious forms, and use it as a tool to encourage women to “claim back their sexuality on their own terms”. Comedy, Drama and Dance are merged to create the perfect creative platform to showcase brazen femininity in all its natural shapes and sizes.
4th February promises to be a night of scintillating sexiness and bawdy burlesque tastefully fused together to create a jam-packed line up of stellar entertainment for your enjoyment! Not only will you be treated to beautiful burlesque, but expect to be transported to a dreamy world of enchantment with the silky sounds of our sassy siren. As if this wasn’t enough, we thought we would spoil you a little more with the addition of a comedy-infused magic show! We are very proud to have Marcel Oudejans back on stage with us for some more mind blowing magic and incredibly brain tickling illusion!
