ABOUT
Carnival is one of those forces that can pull entire continents together. Since ancient times, this world cultural celebration has moved entire communities and it reaches Muizenberg again, for the 3rd consecutive year at one of the most iconic venues in Cape Town. A culmination of Ghoema, Balkan, Gypsy, African and Brazilian Music by the beach + delicious Brazilian snacks & drinks (besides the delightful house menu).
The Hilton Schilder Goema Club
Cape Town born composer, multi-instrumentalist and raconteur, Hilton Schilder is always producing something new. His mastery with 16 indigenous and conventional instruments is renowned. Hilton has undoubtedly helped to mold the sound of what is now known as Cape Jazz. This globally recognized treasure has collaborated with almost every legendary international South African musician. When our diverse genetics makes music, you can hear the sonic layers of the Khoe Mouthbow, urbanized Marabi, the drums of Malaysia, the polyrhythms of Africa, riffs of Cape Jazz, the strains of European ditties and the spice of Asia coming together in up-tempo happiness, you cannot stop your foot tapping or your happy smile. This is The Hilton Schilder Goema Club!
