Evening of Music 2024

We are thrilled to welcome Christiaan Snyman back for another enchanting Evening of Music at the exquisite Simola Hotel. Accompanied by the talented pianist Olive Sandilands, the duo will perform well loved light classical, melodic opera, and Broadway tunes - some infused with a delightful Irish twist.

This event will support the Knysna Education Trust, a local charity dedicated to servicing the Early Childhood Development Sector. The Trust strives to ensure that every child is afforded equal learning opportunities, developing the necessary skills to thrive in formal school.

About the musicians:

Christiaan Snyman began singing professionally in 2001, performing in concerts, opera production and oratorio in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Windhoek, Namibia. Since then, he has lived in Germany and New York, performing on prestigious stages.

Olive Sandilands obtained the degree B-Mus(hons) from the University of Pretoria, cum laude, then continued her piano studies while performing Saint-Saëns' Carnival of the Animals with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2014 she accompanied the South African tenor Johan Botha at a benefit concert in Vienna, Austria. Her performances as accompanist and chamber musician include various singers and instrumentalists, such as Zanta Hofmeyr and Miro Chakaryan, with whom she performed at various festivals resulting in them being awarded a Fiësta Award in the category of ‘Best Classical Music performance’ in 2018.
