Our focus will be on two delightful recipes that showcase your knife skills: a hearty Minestrone Soup and a beautifully layered Ratatouille.
In the Class:
- Identifying fresh herbs & leafy greens, and their uses
- Identifying vegetables by family, categorically & their uses
- Skilful: Dive into the colourful world of vegetables as we guide you through chopping a variety of veggies for a classic Minestrone Soup. Understand the size and shapes ideal for soups to enhance flavour and cooking time.
- Precision Slicing for Ratatouille: Elevate your slicing skills as we prepare Ratatouille, a dish that not only tastes delicious but is also a visual treat. Learn how to slice and layer vegetables for a dish that's as beautiful as it is tasty.
What to expect: Under the guidance of our master chef, you'll learn the essential skills you will only need to learn, as well as relevant information for preparing the recipes.
What's included: A two-hour practical session, all ingredients, a skills booklet, an apron to wear on the day, a tea towel, substantial snacks upon arrival, beverages. All cooking equipment and teaching resources are provided at the Studio.
What you need to know: No prior knowledge is required for this course, which is suitable for both novices and cooks with experience.
Throughout the class, we'll cover fundamental techniques like the proper way to hold a knife, the different types of cuts (dice, julienne, chiffonade), and the best practices for maintaining your knives. You'll leave this class not only with two fantastic dishes to share but also with the confidence and skill to tackle any recipe that comes your way.
