Father and Son Piano Recital with Sahil and Aran
Sat Dec 16, 12:00 - Sat Dec 16, 15:00
The Ballroom @ The Pencil
ABOUT
Join us for a piano recital featuring The Pencil Club’s very own classical music curator Sahil Singh and his son Aran Singh.
Sahil is a self-taught amateur classical pianist who is passionate about the Romantic period and in particular, the composer Franz Liszt. Liszt is most well known for his dazzling pieces of extreme technical difficulty, often included in repertoire to demonstrate virtuosity. There is, however, a softer, gentler side to Liszt who also composed a huge number of sensitive and harmonically sublime works that are not often played and are unknown even to accomplished musicians. Sahil will be performing an all-Liszt programme showcasing some of these lesser-known works to introduce the audience to Liszt’s more sensitive side.
Aran is a 15-year-old prodigy who is studying under two international concert pianists: Warner Classics artist and the winner of the 2014 International Liszt Competition, Mariam Batsashvili & the winner of the 2023 Munich Piano Competition (Schumann Edition), Ninuca Tkeshalashvili. Despite his young age, Aran has an enviable repertoire that includes Bach, Scarlatti, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin & Liszt. Aran will be participating in several piano competitions in 2024 and he will be performing regularly at The Pencil Club as an opening artist for international pianists. Aran will be performing works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin & Liszt at this recital.
