Join us on the 25th of November 2023 for a one of a kind Mbira playing workshop where you can awake your creativity and learn about a range of ancient African instruments

The Mbira is An African musical instrument with deep roots in Zimbabwe. It creates a joyful yet meditative sound that uplifts the soul. Wood and iron come together to create an authentic ancient sound

The maestro of music! Alan Kupeta Is a seasoned musician and educator, he's all about keeping the heritage of traditional African instruments alive and kicking. Through the ‘Rhythm in Africa’ workshops, he creates a space to unleash your creativity and joy, leading you on a melodic and rhythmic journey across our colourful continent.

The Workshop:

Each guest will recieve a mbira to use for the session, Alan will take you through the basics and teach some classical mbira songs. There will be a demonstration and information session about various instruments like the Durbaka, uHadi and the Wandindi to name a few.
