iPhupho L'ka Biko’s Maropeng goa boelwa – a Setswana idiom which speaks to the essence of home as an oasis of love and comfort when life gets heavy. Loosely translated, “There's no place like home”.
December is known to be period for home, due to the historical system of migrant labour it has somehow remained a tradition to go back home from the city during this month. This show finds it's foundations on this very depth, that home is any place where one can just connect with their being.
Maropeng goa boelwa is another experimental and unconventional installment by iPhupho L'ka Biko.
A conscious and intentional feature to the show will be Motswako finest rappers of our time, Tuks Senganga.
You can look forward to a fusion of Motswako and black conscious jazz on the night.
