Join us on Saturday 23rd of December 2023 for a pre X-mas gathering at the iconic Villa Viva Guesthouse.

Lectric Licks, Ashton, Ole Ohm, J-funkart (Vinyl Set) and the Rekkids (Vinyl Set) are going to make you dance and leave you drooling for Viva Sessions Vol. 5. in 2024.

Vol. 4 will be the next chapter in our event activities as are having a second, vinyl only dance floor inside the Villa for the first time!

LECTRIC LICKS (Musical Shape Shifters)

Lectric Licks are back in the (guest)house. They are a live electronic music group from Cape Town, South Africa, comprising Christoph Koch and Gerhardus Coetzee. This soul stirring duo crosses the bridge between Deep house and Melodic Techno. Formed in 2018, their unique sound is derived from live guitar, keys, synths and vocals, which they define as colour that the eyes have never seen. Be sure to catch them live to experience their remarkable melodic journey.

ASHTON

A mainstay in the South African electronic music family.

Ashton brings passion, energy, and experience to every set. From underground deep tech and house to mid-tempo rhythmical wigglers.

Dance floor happiness and smiling faces have kept him motivated to continue playing music for over two decades. His versatility and sensitivity to crowds has seen him perform at most Cape Town's summer festivals, with a historical list of club residencies going back to 2001.

As a founding member of newly formed "The Upside Down" in Cape Town, he has created a platform for mid and down tempo to be played and enjoyed.

OLE OHM

Ole Ohm started spinning tunes in 1997 and has lived in Cape Town for almost 2 decades. His old love drum n bass has mainly been substituted by organic house mixed with afro house and groovy, electronic gems. But... sometimes he works in some surprises into his sets (let it be analogue or digital). Ole Ohm is the organiser and founder of the Villa Viva Sessions.

J-FUNKART

 J-FUNKART ! The patience is a true virtue, and few know it more than Tunisian-born, nomadic music producer after a whole childhood dedicated to meticulously taping Hip Hop & House. He is a DJ and producer and the founder of FFW REC in Malmo, Sweden. He is a creative and eclectic Tunisian producer also of the new generation, effortlessly navigating between house, disco, funk, garage and italo .

He started the famous show FUNK FROM THE WORLD with RINSE FM, 12th May 2020 and later became résident with RINSE. After 11 episodes of his show he started to début with NTS RADIO in London with the same show on 29th April 2023.

Now he is busy the monthly résidency with the famous NTS RADIO LDN, he took the stage at Dekmantel selectors in Croatia , 

Funk from the world is a concept he started with Radio show on RINSE FM and Radyoon. Every time he selects funk music from a different country and now the concept is growing up and he started to incorporate it as live sets in gigs.

He is a crazy guy, the master of Disco, Funk and 90s Classic House. Expect to go down the memory lane with him.

Standing still is not on when J-funkart spins his records. The smile he puts on everyone's faces is priceless.

REKKIDS

REKKIDS are the vinyl lovers. Their gigs are regular and at rad venues all around Cape Town. As a collective, their vinyl ranges from golden oldies to the hottest new dance music from all over the world. They have over 10,000 vinyl records in their combined collection! How does that sound? Expect to fall in love with "black gold" again.
