ABOUT
Band leader of the Jaryd Philander Quartet, Jaryd Philander is the epitome of living and breathing jazz music. Music is music. It doesn't discriminate. His journey as a muso is one of the migration from gospel to jazz.
This Cape Town-born electric guitarist, picked up his stringed instrument at the tender age of 11, under the tutelage of his local teacher. More of his teachings, originate from Alvin Dyers, Elton Goslett and currently Michael Bester. These are learnings and experiences that aided Jaryd in honing is sound and ensured that he's a well-rounded musician as he's also a composer and arranger, in addition to being a live performer.
On track offer momentarily, are his true-to-the name originals he titled, "Reflections", "Prayer of Hope", and "The Journey", pieces that are in the pipeline for release in 2024.
