ABOUT
The Institute for Creative Arts invites you to the launch of Infecting the City (ITC) 2023.
The launch will take place on Tuesday 7th November 2023 at 6 pm (6 Spin Street, Cape Town).
The longest-running public art festival in South Africa, Infecting the City (ITC) brings performance and visual art out of theatres and galleries, into the streets and public spaces of Cape Town. Presented by the Institute for Creative Arts at the University of Cape Town, ITC reimagines public space as stages, showcasing an array of art forms, and creating a platform for artworks relevant to the people that populate these spaces. Going beyond light entertainment, the Festival challenges audiences and transgresses aesthetic and disciplinary boundaries while also shifting perspectives.
Participating artists include:
Angelinah Maponya, Moving Stories Theatre Organisation, Auriol Hays, Clinton Osbourn, The Sex Worker Theatre Company, Catol Teixeira, ANIKAYA Dance Theatre, Tim Zulauf, Sello Pesa, Deidre Jantjies, Toroga Denver Breda, Elvis Sibeko, The Nest Collective, Gaby Saranouffi, Jeruhani Movement, Jessica Foli, Jody Wood, Kwanele Thusi, Linda Makgabutlane, Louise Westerhout, Mandla Mbothwe, Mthunzikazi Mbungwana, Thiyane Duda, Ntsiki Anderson, Embo Ethongweni, Zayaan Khan, Nozuko Madokwe, Breeze Yoko, Raul Gourgel, Russel Hlongwane, Tammy Langtry, Sbo Ndaba Dance, Sboniso Thombeni, Toby Ngomane, Wolff Architects, Vida Fantabisher, Manila von Teez, Kat Gilardi, Jayde Kay Johnson and Mitchell Darling.
