More about The Bridge...
The Bridge is a family orphanage and workshop space in Cape Town, South Africa, dedicated to
creating a better world through a loving family type home environment with the guidance of a mindful
community which we offer to orphaned and vulnerable children.
Deeply touched by the condition of orphaned children who are abandoned by their parents and who, unfortunately,
do not have access to the love and care of a family environment, founder, Laetitia Galvaire began The Bridge, to create a
family like home which would bring some loving light to the life of a few children.
After selling her property in France, she bought a house in Hout Bay in 2022, and started The Bridge as it is now. Ensuring
that the children's basic needs are met, including food, clothing, shelter, education and various activities as her responsibility.
In the near future, with more funding, The Bridge would like to provide the children with counseling and support services to help them cope with
any emotional or psychological issues they may be facing.
There are currently 4 orphaned children under the care of The Bridge, with space for 4 more children when the funds align.
Together with 2 full time house mothers, The Bridge provides physical, mental and emotional support who are cared for with nourishment in all formms and love that
one would find in a safe family environment, as well as to be able to guide them and bring them a quality
education.
The Bridge works closely with social workers and the Hout Bay community to combat abandonment and the lack of care often found in
South Africa's poorer communities.
