ABOUT
Pichi Keane presents "Yes, Please!": A Workshop in Consent, Recognising Pleasure & Inviting Play. In this workshop, drag queen Pichi Keane proposes practical ways to consider consent, explore personal boundaries and introduces the use of various embodiment techniques to recognise and respond to a felt sense of pleasure in the body, allowing for more play, fun and freedom.
Pichi Keane is a genderqueer drag queen and pleasure activist who is committed to creating safe spaces for especially queer and marginalised individuals to connect with and express their innate joy and experience embodied pleasure.
Pichi Keane recently made waves at the National Arts Festival with her solo drag cabaret ‘Ripe ‘n Ready’, taking home a Standard Bank Silver Ovation Award for excellence on the Fringe. She first started performing in drag in Hong Kong and highlights include performing at the Official Hong Kong Pride Afterparty (2021) Out of drag, Pichi has worked as a workshop facilitator in theatre skills for adults, as well as for some top South African schools.
‘Yes, Please!’ is the result of years of drama training and professional rehearsal processes, which were mostly comprised of what Pichi now recognises as awareness and mindfulness practices, and somatic therapy modalities. Originally from South Africa, Pichi is keen to savour the sunshine and sample the fresh produce of her home country once again!
