ABOUT
The idea of hosting a picnic in a parcade was born out of creative necessity when a relaxation of lockdown levels during the Covid-19 pandemic allowed for a limited number of guests at a venue. Using a parcade would allow for a maximum number of guests (who could seat themselves in a socially distanced manner using their own chairs and bringing and enjoying their own refreshments) while still affording the choir the benefit of the good acoustics offered by the venue.
The first “Piekniek-inni-Parkade” was hosted on 21 November 2020 in the parkade of the Tshwane - China Shopping Mall with close to 200 guests in attendance and nothing less than a grand piano for accompaniment. In 2022 the Picnic-in-a-Parcade found a new home at the Jacaranda Centre in the Moot Valley and we intend to continue the tradition of hosting an annual Picnic-in-a-Parcade.
Join us for this year's event as Conwonnité Choir hosts the Pretoria Male Choir - with the promise of excellent choral music and a relaxed atmosphere in an unusual venue.
