Friday Night Live is a series of beautiful, intimate performances from some of the most exciting talent Cape Town and South Africa has to offer, hosted at the KAYA Café. Friday Night Live is an event for performers to take in their own direction, creating an environment for audiences to engage deeply with the music, the meaning, and the people behind it all.
Mystic Therapy is a 5-piece band from Cape Town, South Africa. The band was formed by bassist Sharief Tambay and guitarist Shiraz Tambay. They were later joined by keys player Caleb Harley and Keziah Williams who adds her energy and vocal ability to the ensemble. Session drummer, Recardo Philander completes the lineup.
The essence that hold this unit together is the creative process. The product thereof is a unique sound created by the fusion of the members drawing from their own personal experiences. Band members of 'Mystic Therapy’ have performed many shows throughout the years at some of the top venues in Cape Town and surrounds including Jazz Festivals and various tv appearances.
The show will be opened by Miss Morena and Yamiko.
Miss Morena, Born Samantha Olwethu Sibongile Bekebeke. Activist, writer, Rapper and performer from the Northern Cape province in South Africa. A true power house packed with crowd pleasing energy. Her raw and impacftul lyrics always carry a message - uplifting women, the community and lifting spirits with every live performance she graces.
Yamiko, a multifaceted singer/ songwriter and dancer from Cape Town. She is known for her light, airy vocals and heavy basslines. Her music takes us on a journey through her mind, and shows us her views on love, lust, and mental health.
