Prince Albert Open Gardens proudly showcases over 12 unique Karoo gardens along with talks and interactive workshops hosted by renowned and diverse expert personalities.

Visitors can experience the wonders of dry gardens and how to incorporate them into beautiful and sustainable spaces that is the future of gardening.


Our exciting keynote talk, Design Thinking for Dry Gardens, will be spearheaded by the guru of garden design, Franchesca Watson, supported by our very own Karoo plant ecologist Professor Sue Dean. Garden enthusiast Malcolm Searle, whose Kraal garden will be used for the case study, will present on the realities of maintaining a Karoo dry garden.


Experience a perfect example of harmonic regenerative farming at Gay's Dairy Farm, as well as organic food garden walk and talks at Oasis Farm, facilitated by foodscaper Sue Torrance.

The Swartberg Pass Wild Walk with Professor Sue Dean is also not to be missed.


A percentage of ticket sales will be donated to the Wolwekraal Nature Reserve Conservation project.
