Poetry Open Mic: Daring to Take Up SPACE

Your ideas, thoughts, words and stories have been waiting to be shared. To be heard.

You are invited to be brave and dare to take up space at The KAYA Cafe for an evening of spoken word and song on Saturday, 16th September 2023.

We look forward to welcoming you, beautiful and brave human.

To hold space for your emotions and to bear witness to the words that echo our shared experience.

Performers are encouraged to share up to five pieces of spoken word in the form of poetry or rap.

We would love it if at least one of the performance items is an exploration of the event theme:

Tell us what "Daring to take up Space" means to you. 

Write a short-form piece inspired by this month's event theme. 

Whether it's a poem, a verse, or a song, we can't wait to hear what you create.

Let your written words come alive, take up space and ignite fires. 

Doors open at 17h30 and performances start at 18h00.

Arrive early to secure your seat. Optional to bring along a cushion or blanket to get really comfy.

Food and beverages will be available for sale courtesy of the amazing KAYA Cafe.
