Get ready to be swept away by the enchanting harmonies of two exceptional male voice choirs as they come together for a historic performance on Sunday, October 29, 2023. The Quarrymen Male Voice Choir, conducted by Clare Mortimore, and the Cape Town Male Voice Choir, under the baton of Peter Roux, invite music enthusiasts and the community to "An Afternoon of Singing" at the Fish Hoek Civic Centre. The concert will commence at 3 p.m., with doors opening at 2.30 p.m.

This not-to-be-missed event marks a historic collaboration between two renowned choirs who have never sung together before. The Cape Town Male Voice Choir, with members hailing from various areas of Cape Town, including Fish Hoek and Noordhoek, joins forces with The Quarrymen Male Voice Choir, which has members from Ocean View, Masiphumelele, and surrounding areas.
Founded in 1976, the Cape Town Male Voice Choir has a rich history of delivering exceptional four-part harmony singing and a diverse repertoire that has captivated audiences far and wide. In 2017, their partnership with the CENESTRA Male Choir from Gauteng resulted in a triumphant tour of Argentina and Uruguay, showcasing the spirit of unity through music.
The Quarrymen Male Voice Choir, established in 2007, has a unique mission of fostering community joy and promoting unity among the southern Peninsula's diverse communities. Their eclectic repertoire, spanning African traditional songs, beloved classics, and light classical pieces, reflects their commitment to inclusivity. The choir practices at the False Bay Shooting Club in Glencairn Quarry, which has long been a supportive partner in this community-building project.
