Spring Concert

Spring is in the air, and we all just can't wait for longer days and a summer holiday! We celebrate the new awakening the best way we know, with glorious music! Our Spring concert this year is a rapturous mix of bold classical pieces and popular nostalgia. The Nocore Ensemble will delight with tight harmonies from the modern British composer Karl Jenkins and a fresh arrangement of the Joni Mitchell mega hit "Both sides now", and maybe even some Billy Joel! The NHS Choir will continue the nostalgia tour with Here comes the sun, contrasted with a fantastic new composition by Franco Prinsloo, Heuningkrans.

On the instrumental side there will be some compulsory Chopin virtuosity by Janette Rottcher on the piano, and a daring flute and clarinet duet by Cassandra Monnig and Isabel van Veenhuyzen. Jurgens Naude also returns to the Lowveld with some fabulous Mozart on the french horn, and Julia Burger will coloratura her way through some glorious Schubert with Isabel on the clarinet by her side. Lizanne Barnard and Tyrone Hinrichsen will round out the nostalgia with Barnard's arrangement of Bitterbessie dagbreek. A fabulously varied concert!
