Join us at District nightclub this Heritage Day in celebrating the rich history of South African swing music with a special performance by the sensational Pebble Shakers band along with an array of DJs to keep you moving all night long.

The Pebble Shakers is a Cape Town-based group of jazz musicians specialising in swing-era tunes. To celebrate the history of jazz in South Africa, the band plays a selection of swinging South African tunes from the 1930s-50s, through the Echoes of Sophiatown music revival project. Don't miss this opportunity to get a taste of this unique selection of South African music.

For those who would like an introduction to the world of swing dancing, we have a free beginner lesson kicking off at 20:30.

The SA vs Ireland rugby match will be screened in the Rum Runner bar at the venue for those who want to keep an eye on the sporting action this Heritage Weekend.

20:00-20:30 - DJs will be spinning swinging tunes

20:30-21:00 - Beginner Swing Dance Lesson

21:00-22:00 - The Pebble Shakers will heat things up with two hot sets

23:00-00:00 - A final swinging DJ set
