Civil society breakfast dialogue

Sat Sep 9, 09:15 - Sat Sep 9, 11:30

Novalis Ubuntu Institute

ABOUT

Are we creating the world our hearts know is possible? - Charles Eisenstein

A cross sector strategic conversation to explore how civil society can sustain itself in a changing world, how climate change is impacting organisations and funders, possible collaborative projects, the interconnectedness of crises and funding models for the future. Come together to reconnect and for a conversation with like minded leaders of civil society at a networking brunch.

This event is for NGO Board members, Directors and fundraisers. Please invite your own Board members and pass the invitation along to any other NGOs you think would be interested.

A full brunch is included in the ticket price.

The Novalis building is a beautiful large domed space. It may be cold - dress warmly!

There will be a few very short informal presentations intended to trigger ideas and discussion.

Please check back here for updates, but so far confirmed speakers include:

Zackie Achmat, lifelong activist, Director of UniteBehind

- Civil society’s role in SA’s current political climate

Michelle Pressend, Lecturer in Environmental Sociology, UCT

- Linking climate change and development work

Prof. Donna Podems, Program Evaluation and Organizational Development expert

- Civil society, M&E and the environment

Thokozile Madonko, Researcher, activist, poet and climate campaigner
