Join INSTOPP and Lanese Knipe-Pitout for a Mentorship Session that focuses on children with Autism. Lanése will give a brief overview of:

·        What is Autism Spectrum Disorder and how does it present itself?

·        What is the role of the OT and when/to who do I refer?

·        Which OT assessment tools and principles to consider?

·        Which OT treatment modalities, techniques and principles to consider?

About the presenter:

Lanése is the practice director at Lanése Knipe Occupational Therapy Inc and also an OT student supervisor at the Stellenbosch University. She has dynamic management and childhood development background and is in the process of completing her Sensory Integration qualification.

 

As the Western Cape Paediatric Practitioners’ Group vice-chairperson (previously chairperson), she gets to learn from other therapists, network and share her passion for paediatric OT which she has been developingg since the beginning of her studies at Stellenbosch University in 2013.

 

She views herself as a hardworking, problem solver and detailed oriented leader with a passion for and extensive experience in early childhood development, working with children in various settings in collaboration with their caregivers and the rest of the team surrounding them to ensure their optimal development through effective teamwork.
