Despite the wintery chills, the Winelands will be blossoming this Women’s Day to the sounds of some of the most influential female swing jazz artists from the 1930s, '40s, and '50s. The Blue Shoes Swingtet, a fiery five-piece swing jazz band, will be laying down this special repertoire as the perfect soundtrack to an afternoon filled with wining and dining in celebration of all the fabulous women in our lives, all set to the backdrop of the beautiful Stellenbosch mountains. What could be more perfect?
Book your tickets to secure your table at Forest 44, and come and enjoy the show. And for those feeling in the mood, don’t forget to pack your dancing shoes, as the Cape Town Swing dance community will be on the dance floor to turn up the thermostat and ensure everyone’s left feeling warm inside.
La Pineta Restaurant will serve delicious lunch options, and you are invited to join from noon. The band starts their first set at 14:00 and will wrap up by 16:15.
We’ll be saying goodbye (for now) to our wonderful teacher and partner in crime, Sarah, and her husband, Nick. What better way to bid them farewell than by swinging down the wine route with them?
