GRAND OPENING! Open Day and Performance Night at Embodiment Rope Space | 12 Aug 2023

ABOUT

Embodiment Rope Space is a not-for-profit venue dedicated to exploring the erotic art of consensual restriction known as Shibari / Kinbaku / Bondage / Rope Work. We are a safe(r) space where informed consent, communication and care are paramount.

We've been operating from shared spaces for the last two years and are finally moving into our own dedicated venue at the Spice Yard in Salt River! Please come and celebrate this milestone with us on Saturday the 12th of August. We're celebrating the way we enjoy most - with an open day, a lil performance night and play party vibe in our new home in Salt River. You can come for all of it, or only some of it, as you like!

Schedule

4PM - 7 PM

Open Day (free admission - come and meet us in the most low pressure way)

Information Booth: ask us any and all questions you have about the space

Rope Experience Booth: get a lil tied up by a member of our team. Buy a rope (we will have low cost options available too) and one of our team will tie you in it.

Spanking Booth: Ask hotsqueak nicely (and contribute to our fundraiser) and they'll warm that lil booty right up.

Bootblacking Booth: Bootblack Calico is ready to give your leather boots the TLC they deserve. All contributions go towards our fundraising efforts

Play Space: following the performances, a play space will be opened up for the remainder of the night.

Accessibility

There are approximately 5 steps into the space. Please let us know if you will need assistance with these. There is no wheelchair accessible toilet on site at present.

What are we fundraising for?

We would like to make our new home as accessible as possible, so we are fundraising towards a wheelchair ramp for the space.

Rules

From 4 - 7 PM, the following rules apply:

1. Respect the space. Leave no trace - whatever you bring, take it back with you. 
2. Ego has no place here. Learn and share with humility. 
3. Ask for people’s pronouns and use the ones you are given. 
4. No shoes. Keep underwear on at public events. Nipples may be free. 
5. Do not make unsolicited comments about anyone else's body.
6. Do not take any photos of anyone in attendance without consent. 
7. Do not post photos without consent of EVERYONE in the photo. 
8. Do not reveal the identity of anyone you meet in the space once you leave. Many people prefer anonymity. 
9. Be discrete when moving through other parts of the premises. Clothes are optional in the space but not outside the door.
10. Please stay home if you are feeling unwell.
11. Acknowlege and accept that you are participating in a high-risk behaviour at your own risk

From 7:30 PM Rope Salon rules apply. In addition to the above, please abide by the following:

1. Don’t be late for the performances. Be respectful to the performers.
2.  Be mindful of making noise in the space during performances and when others are tying around you, this includes loud talking and laughing. Take the jokes outside.
3. Give performers a little bit of space in the 15 mins following the performance. After this, you may approach them to discuss the performance.
4. No photography of performances will be permitted other than by the designated event photographer.
