Friday Night Live with Silent Ivy

Friday Night Live is a series of beautiful, intimate live performances from some of the most exciting talent Cape Town and South Africa has to offer, hosted at the KAYA Café. Friday Night Live is an event for performers to take in their own direction, creating an environment for audiences to engage deeply with the music, the meaning, and the people behind it all.

In the latest installment of the Friday Night Live series, we are unbelievably excited to welcome Silent Ivy to the stage for their first ever headline performance - encompassing an exclusive pre-release listening party of their debut EP, 'Ebb and Flow', along with a number of already released, and never-before-heard tracks. Silent Ivy has graced our stage a number of times before, but each time only giving us a little taste of their versatility, lyricism, unique perspective and delivery.

Silent Ivy is not easily defined by the parameters of genre. At the age of 10, they began writing songs as a form of expression deeply inspired by their admiration for hip hop. Since then, they have developed an alternative sound, a blend of genres that can only be described as uniquely unmistakable.

The show will be opened by Jarry Pitboi, a KAYA Café staple who has graced our stage many times with his dynamic flows and poignant lyricism, as well as Oyama Gumbi, a talented young hip-hop artist who has been working with Silent Ivy for the past year.
