The Event

At 15h30 on Sunday 3 September 2017, The Rand Symphony Orchestra will bring you their 2017 Spring Concert, packed with Fun, Fantasy and Beautiful Music. It will be held at the NG Church Hall, Malcolm Road, off Barkston Drive, in Blairgowrie. Our soloist will be well-known trumpeter, Philip Cox.

We will also showcase talent from within the Orchestra, with Janice Evans on piano and Isabel Bradley on flute. The Programme will include the Overture to Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss; Neruda’s lovely Trumpet Concerto in E Flat Major; Chopin’s glorious Romance from his 1st Piano Concerto in E Minor; the Hungarian Pastoral Fantasy by Franz Doppler; Anita Baker’s Sweet Love and Burton Lane’s Old Devil Moon; and will close with the joyful Hungarian Dance No. 5 by Brahms and the boisterous Slavonic Dance No. 8 by Dvorak.
