Soul, Flow, Dance!

Mapumba is a singer and songwriter from Cape Town, his performances enchanting, his music a blend of afro-soul, folk and organic dance.

His sound has a strong global influence and a feeling similar to Tracy Chapman, The Lighthouse Family and a sweet flavour of Papa Wemba. He sings in English and Swahili, plus a few songs in other languages.

The Congo DR born Mapumba has toured internationally and has released albums and singles since the early 2000 when he started making music. He says… “I am so excited to return to café Roux after such a long time. I am bringing my full heart to this one. Come let’s sing, feel and dance.”

Dady Kabuya is a talented drummer and percussionist with vast musical experience, playing with many bands and musical outfits in various genres. He has a long history with Mapumba on stage and the two of them have a connection in performance that is worth watching. See you there!
