Swan Lake - Mzansi Ballet

You are all in for a huge treat on Thursday 03 August @20h00 when Mzansi Ballet take to the stage in SWAN LAKE at the Pieter Toerien Theatre at Montecasino.

Billed as a 'reimagined version' of this popular and well-loved classic, theatre-goers and die-hard ballet fans will be pleased to know that certain of the expected highlights have remained the same. The excitement and thrill, however, lies in the fact that there are a few surprises along the way, keeping this saga of good and evil or light vs dark fresh and applicable in this ever-changing world we live in. It’s perhaps a case of ‘less of the old and more of the new’ cleverly and creatively explored this time around in this mesmerizing love story that has captured public imagination for over 100 years. 

Joining Mzansi Ballet once again as their guest star, in the role of Von Rothbart, the central antagonist or ‘baddie’ of the ballet is South Africa’s Queen of the Skies, Miss Cathy Specific.

So gather your friends and family, the book club, the bridge club or even strangers for a welcome drink and chit chat in the foyer beforehand.
