Rhythmic Revelations: Celebrating Femme directed Music Videos is a Women’s month event curated by Behind Her Lens Visuals, that seeks to celebrate the incredible women that are the backbone of music video representations right now. Although music videos have been largely criticised for exploitative depictions of women globally and throughout their history, long before contemporary representations, women have played a pivotal role in forming counter-narratives around representation in music, in order to challenge and disrupt the male dominated genres that they were producing music and directing from. This event seeks to highlight and celebrate the journey’s of femme music video directors through a panel discussion, an immersive audio-visual experience and soundscape through DJ sets.

Behind Her Lens Visuals (BHL Visuals) is a South African based film curation agency, with a mission to provide accessible stories to audiences on the African continent and beyond, in order to bridge the gap between industry professionals, emerging filmmakers and audiences. We promote unique cinema experiences through curated film screenings, film festivals and film related talks. Since its inception, Behind Her Lens Visuals has housed some of the African diaspora’s most unique and independent short films, documentaries, web-series and curated local cinema events. It's a highly attended film festival, Reel To Reality Festival is the agency's official annual film festival.
