Iphupho L'ka Biko Presents : E-Azania Siyalapha with LaliBoi, Spoek Mathambo, Makhafula Vilakazi

iPhupho L’ka Biko's debut EP "Azania" and LaliBoi’s album ‘Siyalapha’ to be released on June 30th

iPhupho L’ka Biko, the highly acclaimed Africanist experimental jazz band, is thrilled to announce the release of their debut EP ‘AZANIA’ on June 30th, 2023. Following the success of their two acclaimed singles, Abaphezulu, released through Brownswood Recordings, and uThixo uKhona, the band has dedicated the past year to recording and producing this eagerly awaited EP. For this night Makhafula Vilakazi will be joining them on stage. 

Laliboi’s album produced by Spoek Mathambo is a continuation of SIYANGAPHI. Ku SIYANGAPHI they were asking AMANYANGE for direction, however with SIYALAPHA they are reporting back to abahlali uba bathi Abadala siyengaphi. Whilst at the same time, they are Healing / SIYALAPHA. Hence, the title of the show "e-Azania Siyalapha" combining the two titles of the album and EP, to speak to the unifying need to heal a nation, that is Azania. 

The show features a number of selectors, Buntu The Ghetto, Mazwi da DJ, Theo Pluto and Muntu Vilakazi.
