Music Concert with Nur Felix in Support of Starseed Community School

Come and enjoy an evening of music with Nur Felix and friends at the Muizenberg Kitchen on Saturday 22 July. Warming winter soup and bread will be served.

This concert is a fundraiser for Starseed Community School, a collective of parents and teachers who are re-imagining the concept of ‘school’.

SCS is an alternative schooling system in the heart of Muizenberg that pushes the boundaries of education and is inclusive of all families, no matter their socio-economic status. The school is a registered NPO and seeks funding to cover its monthly running costs.

Importantly for a school founded on inclusivity, their curriculum is rooted in instilling a love and respect for humanity, regardless of race, gender, ability, religion, culture or socio-economic status. The school’s guiding principle is to inspire children’s love of learning through creative play, crafts, arts, movement and more. It continually explores and works with the great outdoors, developing children’s reverence for the natural world and building environmental consciousness along with education and skills.

Nur Felix is a singer, songwriter & guitarist from Athlone, Cape Town. Over the last 10 years, Nur has been sharing his message of peace promotion and activism in theatres, music festivals and at community upliftment and peace-building events across South Africa.

Singing and composing from the heart, Nur's upbeat acoustic sound encourages audiences that 'We Are All We Need'. Happiness is not found in material things, but in the pursuit of dreams, the search for deeper meaning, love and breaking down the barriers against authentic life expression. There is a tad of activism in his songs, and room for emotional processing through love and heartache also, all carried by unique guitar riffs and melodies that are bound to uplift your soul and get you moving and grooving.
