July Ride for Smiles

Imagine walking around for 2 years with a severe tooth ache every day of your life!!! Well, over 60% of the children in South Africa under the age of 6, live under such circumstances, mainly because they can't afford theatre costs.

Join other fellow cyclists from around Pretoria and Johannesburg, including some of the internationally acclaimed names in cycling as they converge in support of a noble cause on our next monthly charity ride, on Sunday, 2nd July 2023 in Montana, Kolonnade Retail Park Mall, Pretoria, around the famous Roodeplaat Dam encompassed by the Kameeldrift and Kameelfontein areas.

The ride is mainly road, inviting both road and mountain riders, and it presents a number of climbs for riders who really want to experience cycling at a different level, as they go through the amazing views of country living.

Ride for Smiles is a Charity Ride for Kids' Dental Surgeries hosted by Kids Dental Home Foundation in Collaboration with Kolonnade Retail Park Centre.

The ride is aimed at:

1. Raising awareness on the importance of oral health care among younger children to intercept possible oral health diseases early enough. 
2. Raise funds through cycling, for surgeries of children with Early Childhood Caries, ECC - (an aggressive type of tooth decay prevalent amongst the younger children), mostly from low socio-economic status and as a result, cannot afford hospital theatre fees. 

We are calling all cyclists from various walks of life, to join us in support of this cause on our next monthly ride, Sunday, 2nd June in Montana as we build up towards our next bigger charity ride on 25th September 2023. Watch the space for more details of the September Ride for Smiles!

We are thrilled to announce that there will be two groups for each distance on the upcoming July Monthly Ride and that all four distance options will be fully escorted.

Longer route 85km: Group A: 30km/h + ll Group B: 25 - 28km/h.

Shorter route 45km: Group A: 25 - 28km/h ll Group B: 22-25km/h
