ABOUT
One of Cape Town’s up and coming comedians has finally decided to debut his one-man show on the 27th and 28th October, at the Collective Arts Theater in Bellville.
Born in Texas, USA and spent his teenage years in Egypt, Joe moved to South Africa in 2007. In 2011 he focused on promoting stand-up comedy in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. The brains behind the #ThatsFunny Stand-up Comedy Brand, Joe aims to promote the local stand-up comedy industry in the Northern Suburbs.
Joe has performed on stages in and around Cape Town, but not just stopping there. In 2014 Joe had the opportunity to travel to Johannesburg and attend the Comics Choice Awards, as well as performing on the stage at The Box in Joburg. Joe lives to perform and will take any chance he gets to be on the stage.
In his One-Man Show Joe plans to take the audience on a journey; “I’d like South Africans to get a different view on their own country; see it from a different perspective. Being a foreigner and living in South Africa for almost 10 years, I really love learning about the South African Culture. I am still learning and I would like to take the audience on that journey with me.” Joe Emilio says while on Coastal Radio SA.
Each night will host an opening act, on the 27th October Jaak Erasmus will warm up the crowd, and on the 28th October it is Etienne_D who will take the stage before Joe Emilio. Directed by fellow Comedian and friend Nelson De Gouveia, it is sure to get the crowed crying with Laughter.
