Join INSTOPP and Lyndsey Swart on a Mentorship session focused on Recommending reasonable accommodations for working clients: What OTs should know.
This mentorship session will help answer the following questions for attendees:
· What is “reasonable accommodation” (RA) and does my client qualify to receive RA?
· Is the employer obliged to provide RA and are there any limitations on this duty?
· How does RA fit in with workplace safety?
· Is there a basic process for RA that I could follow?
This session will introduce healthcare practitioners to the statutory provisions around RA and how these can be effectively harnessed to help individuals with disability work productively in the open labour market. Following the session, you should be able to make more confident recommendations for RA for your clients, and effectively facilitate RA negotiations with employers.
