Rebel Sistah Cypher presents - Stories in Motion at Selective Live

Series Number Two: Stories in Motion is a political intervention that seeks to address the everyday experiences of the working class womxn who are forgotten and marginalized. Stories in Motion seeks to highlight the traumas that have been ran through the lineage of black marginalized womxn, we are born into distorted history, our identity is missing. Capitalism has made it difficult for us to co-exist and relate to each other, when we think of ourselves, we are made to imagine ourselves alone, as though the world does not have the same people who are

going through the same experience.

The objective of this Cypher is to open a safe space where a variety of voices will come together and speak about the mental deterioration faced by queer bodies and black womxn in the peripheries. Stories in Motions aims to open a safe space where we are not just bodies moving in motion in the direction of the oppressor, the bodies of black marginalized womxn are a symbol of crime it is not every day that we have platforms for us to speak and decolonize the way we think and imagine ourselves but most importantly stigmas around mental health. With this cypher we want to channel our inner chakra’s and channel a conversation of healing those unspeakable and unthinkable words cause by the vicious neoliberal system. These stories will be shared through conversations, poetry, music, and visuals.
