A Curious Approach to Rope ! 

What is it with Rope! Why does it have such allure? Why does it hold such a special spot in the heart of the kink-identified and mainstream lover alike?

Before you begin learning the specifics about knots and ties, it is important to remember that rope bondage is so much more than just tying. During a bondage session, there is a power exchange between the person being tied and the person tying. This can be an intense emotional experience which requires that you keep in mind certain considerations.

In these lessons you will learn the basics you must take into account before you start your rigging career in order to have safe and enjoyable Shibari sessions.

Ms_Kitten would like to invite you to something completely different. Part sensation play, part ropey things and part just bloody good fun between consenting adults, you are invited to "A Curious Approach to Rope’. No historical pretense or lineage is implied. 

This Rope workshop involves awesome stuff like:

  • Exactly how to do negotiation, discussion, consent, and all those other verbal / emotional things that makes play so much more amazing.

  • Handling a body .. Handling a rope and handling yourself 

  • Occasional glances in the direction of tantra, breathing techniques, and bondage as a spiritual / meditative practice. (But not too much; this workshop only scores 1 out of 10 on the South African Hippy Scale).

  • How to 'read' your partner. (Or, said differently: How to take your partner to some deeply amazing places).

  • Some practical stuff, like knots, and how to (lovingly) hurt the person you are roping, and how to get them out of rope in a hurry. And ergonomics. And aftercare.

Topics we will cover:

• how to kink with consent 

• The roles and emotional involvement surrounding a Shibari session

• How to set up your environment to have the best experience possible

• Safety considerations

• What ropes are available and how are they different

• Basic knots

• Single column ties

• Double column ties

• being present and showing up with intent

• physical condition and health 

This workshop is for pairs of people. You need to find someone you're comfortable exploring this territory with, and invite them. They can be your lover, your friend, your play-partner... The important thing is that you've both read this workshop description, and you both consent. Oh, and both of you will need enthusiasm and your own body as a sacrifice. Singles are welcome but pls let me know so i can arrange enough experienced tops to help and assist you.

You will be switching (meaning, you will be both giving and receiving from your partner, the Curious experience of Rope.) This is not because we think that everyone is a Switch, but because you learn better when you do both. If you disagree, we love you, but please don't come.

Your tops for the event @Ms_Kitten01 on insta will be guiding the consent process and facilitating boundry exercises. 

We are excited to announce that :

@Howitzer39 Is one of Cape Town's riggers will be teaching our rope bits. He loves rope and the artistic use of the medium with alongside the other avenues it opens up. He is in pursuit of making wonderfully beautiful art with rope as a rope top. He is also on the look out to further his techniques and art.

@Atarashi_ropu @Atarashi_ropu will be assisting as a second in the class. Focussing more on the sensual side of rope play and using shibari as a form of meditation.

All three tops love sharing kink with others and invite you to come and get tied up!
