Sky Jazz feat: Jason Ward Live

Ovtech Entertainment & Circuit Jazz in partnership with Hotel Sky presents the SKY JAZZ series inside the iconic Infinity Restaurant on the 26th floor overlooking the beautiful Mother City. We will be featuring Cape Towns most energetic and artistic drummer and percussionist - Jason Ward.

About Jason Ward:

Born and raised in Lotus River, Cape Town, coming from humble beginnings, Jason Ward completed junior and senior school at Buck road primary and Zeekoevlei high school and then received his musical education at Cape Music Institute. Music was always in the atmosphere at home and part of his upbringing as a young boy. Growing up and watching his brother Cameron Ward enjoying the sweet sounds of beautiful music inspired him to pursue music as a career choice. 

As an artist he has a unique sound that portrays him as an individual. He has been invited to play in most parts of Southern Africa. It is his warm and smooth personality that vibrates through his instrument that keeps my audiences listening attentively to his style of music added with his excellent musical skills and abilities. He believes that if you have not engaged your audience you have not created perfect art.  

Being a demanding session musician, Jason always ensures that he is heading in the right direction with the proper energy displayed through his music. He finds it easier to express myself through music and educates his audiences with excellent musical sounds.  

Jason have been extremely fortunate to produce and record a song written by Chad Saaiman – ‘LIVING” this beautiful song is performed by Candice Nicole Thornton and is currently play listed on major radio stations.

It showcases a journey with some of his best friends where they shared 15 self-composed and written songs, ranging from instrumentals to ballades. A warm and intimate display of Cape Town and other jazz forms. Featuring: Jason Ward (Percussions) Anthon Mannel (Drums), Christian Martins (Keys/Synth/Piano), Chadleigh Gowar (Bass), and Manuel Don Jardine (Saxophone), Guest Vocal: Charlyn Davids.

My Journey was a personal rendition of his life and music. He showcased over 13 original tracks from samba, jazz and r&b. It’s a musical journey of love, life and thoughts put into a sound.
