ABOUT
Kate Thompson will discuss in session 1 the relational aspects of Depression in the couple and describe the Couple Therapy for Depression model delivered within the British NHS. In session 2 Kate will use case examples to further illustrate and explore depression within the couple relationship. In session 3 Kate will then discuss working with the Parent couple with a focus on Mentalization-Based therapy
Kate Thomson is a couple psychoanalytic psychotherapist and senior member at Tavistock Relations with over 20 years experience in therapy with couples and individuals. Currently, Kate is Head of the Couple Therapy for Depression Training at the NHS and is also the clinical lead for TRs' Parenting Services. Kate writes for a number of publications, is Editor in Chief of the Journal of Couple and Family Psychoanalysis, and is currently co-editing a book, "Couples as Parents" which is due to be published by Routledge later this year.
Kate also works in private practice in South West London.
