About your hosts:

Kintsugi Queen -Yoke van Dam

Yoke van Dam has been called the Kintsugi Queen, because of her ability to join, grow and transform teams and turn them into something quite wonderful.

She is passionate about the buying brain and became obsessed with persuasion, sales, and influence ever since she was selling pizza at the age of 15. Through her company Y-Connect she empowers leaders and teams to find their voice, step into their power and speak in a way that people want to listen to them. Today, as a qualified behavioral change coach, she teaches leaders and sales professionals how to get people to buy into their ideas and to action them.

She is a director at Y-Connect, a Professional speaker and professional member of the Professional Speakers Association of Southern Africa, and a Distinguished Toastmaster.

When she’s not equipping leaders to reconnect, she’s off hiking with her husband Etienne, swimming in a rockpool, or having a glass of wine

Her coaching clients have won funding for the Pitch SA, where the actors wrote and acted in their own films, they have created their dream jobs, have streamlined systems, got onto large vendor bases for Absa and Standard Bank, and won Speaking competitions and have spoken at conferences. Her programs are offered in South Africa, Malawi, Dubai, Haiti, Egypt, Canada, and Pakistan.

The Rebel Ninja -Nick Smit

A teacher by profession and passion which led him to public speaking, corporate training, and disability advocacy. He is part of the PSASA (Professional Speakers’ Association of South Africa), runs two companies – Straight A Tutors and Smergos and recently launched his speaker brand – The Rebel Ninja.

He believes that challenging life experiences push you as a person; forcing you to either grow to meet the challenges or shy away into their shadows. His greatest strength, and what sets him apart from many others, is his physical disability as a result of a car accident when he was 6 months old. He is a very determined and positive person, perceiving the seemingly impossible as challenges to be overcome. Instead of his disability becoming a weakness it has become an empowering tool.

He has presented a variety of workshops and the like, to an array of audiences, including schools, universities, and companies. Most relate to disability advocacy, awareness, inclusion; the power of the mind, a Growth Mindset, and overcoming challenges.

When presenting he aims to activate, impact, and move his audience.
