ABOUT

Educating a child with special needs can feel overwhelming for parents.

We ask questions like:

  • How do I know which school is right for my child?
  • What questions should I ask about a school's services?
  • What should I expect from a school?

To answer these questions, Parent Reality is hosting a discussion:

"A discussion about the difference between public and private schooling for learners with disabilities."

Public School Speaker: Zinette Cronje

She is a qualified Speech-, Language- and Feeding Therapist working full-time at a public school in Pretoria for learners with special education needs. Zinette is involved on the school's governing body as the representative of the auxiliary services (therapists). She was the chairperson of SANDTA North Gauteng for 4 years. She is currently the vice-chair and CPD coordinator of SANDTA's NEC and have a supporting role at North Gauteng. Her great love is helping children with cerebral palsy- and Augmentative & Alternative Communication needs.

Private School Speaker: Retha van Niekerk
