Something More: Makhanj (Live)

Bae Electronica is proud to present "Something More," a four-part concert series shining the spotlight on the vocal powerhouses of the dance music scene. Each show will feature a different vocalist accompanied by a band, as well as special guests and surprise collaborations. From the legendary voices behind some of our favorite songs to rising stars making waves, “Something More” takes you up close and personal with the women who bring the beats to life in an intimate setting away from the pulsating dancefloor of the club.

Fresh off of her performance at Chanel’s 2022 Métiers d'Art Showcase in Dakar, Senegal—our next guest is no stranger to working with groundbreaking artists in the amapiano arena. Makhanj has collaborated with everyone from Kabza De Small to Musa Keys, DBN Gogo, Sunde and Al Xapo, and in her most recent venture—four features on Kelvin Momo's critically-acclaimed album "Amukelani."

In this special performance at Untitled Basement, her prolific penmanship and remarkable voice are accompanied by a three-piece band playing songs from features she has recorded over the years, as well as some new tracks. With support from Jozi vibe dealer SweeterBrown and London-based artist, curator, and DJ Shannen SP this will surely be a night to remember.
