ABOUT

Windroos is a homegrown production by The Winelands Philharmonic Orchestra, in collaboration with VIVOX Voices Chamber Choir.

Audiences can look forward to original works by Kristi Boonzaaier, namely Die Windroos Overture, Weskuswind, and Geslote Hek, settings of Afrikaans poems with the same titles. The program features various arrangements and existing music, including Song of the Universal, by the Norwegian composer, Ola Gjeilo. Kristi Boonzaaier's symphonic compositional style allows the human voice to float like a yellow-billed hawk over the colorful flower landscape created by the orchestra.
