Sat Feb 18, 10:00 - Sat Feb 18, 13:00
Killarney, Johannesburg
ABOUT
Ever wondered how chefs manage to cut perfect little cubes of onion? Or how to cut an orange without getting juice all over yourself? This hands-on cooking class will teach you the basic knife skills needed to cut fruit and veggies like a pro.
In the workshop you will learn:
- How to hold a knife and safe knife usage
- Basic knife skills to slice, dice and mince vegetables
- Basic knife cuts including jardiniere, julienne and chiffonade
- Simple recipes for salads and dressings
What to bring to class:
- Apron
- Two dish cloths
- Vegetable peeler
- A sharp chef’s knife and paring knife (if you don’t have one we can recommend some good affordable brands to start with)
- We recommend comfy shoes and short nails but it's optional
The aim of the class is to just have fun and become more comfortable with knife usage. After the workshop, we’ll sit down to a light lunch which you prepared together. The ticket includes a welcome drink, a drink with lunch, and printed material for you to take home. If you have any questions about the workshop, feel free to ask away: [email protected]
